Pattern Marking Secrets

One of the most annoying things when it comes to patterns is transferring all those markings from the pattern to your fabric. Uugh! Well, I have found an easy way to do that. Wherever there is a marking for notches, instead of tracing the notches onto your fabric, I simply clip them. Also a lot of pattern pieces will have little dots and circles for you to transfer with tracing paper. I hate pulling out the tracing paper and the tracing wheel.
What I do instead is I take a straight pin and scratch a hole on the pattern.
I then take tailor's chalk and draw inside the hole I just made.
Since you put a hole in the pattern piece, your mark will go directly onto the fabric...it's as simple as that!
